A Reflection on Giving
For those who were in worship on May 17, some of these thoughts may sound familiar. However, they are worth sharing again with our broader church family.
We make decisions about money every day. We decide whether to buy that cup of coffee, when it is time to replace a phone, whether we can afford to fill the gas tank, or how best to invest for the future. Financial decisions are a constant part of life.
As we consider our giving to the church and the work of God's Kingdom, it is important to remember a few simple truths:
We do not give because God forces us to give. We do not give because others are watching us. Rather, we give as a response to God's goodness and faithfulness in our lives.
Our giving is an expression of gratitude to Almighty God. It is a way of saying "thank you" for His countless blessings and a way of participating in the ministry and mission of His Kingdom. Through our gifts, we join together in supporting the work God is doing in our congregation, our community, and beyond.
May we continue to give with thankful hearts, trusting that God uses every gift to accomplish His purposes.
